FAQ

Call for proposals

Q:What should I include in my presentation proposal? Do I need to submit a ppt?
Proposals must include a detailed and extended abstract (one page at most), the name of topic, author(s), affiliation, and an outline of the proposed talk. To help us judge your proposal better we recommend to also include one or two slides you intend to use.

Q: How will proposals be "chosen"?
The program committee will judge each proposal. The best proposals are then chosen.

Q: Who are the judges?

We don't know all members yet.

Q :Can I present remotely, via VC?
A: No, as one of the strengths of GTAC is the direct interaction between everyone who attends the conference all speakers need to be at the conference.

Q: Will my traveling costs be reimbursed?

A: GTAC is offering a sponsorship program for which speakers can chose to apply.
Once speakers are chosen, they will be informed about the process.

Q: Can I request for my talk to be confidential (ie. not recorded)?
A: GTAC is a public conference, and all talks will be recorded and shared online free-of-charge, so please don't share or use any confidential information unless you and your organization are willing for it to be freely available. Note: all speakers will have to sign a release form before the conference.

Q: Will my talk be available on YouTube?
Yes. They will all be posted on Youtube and on this website a few days after the conference.

Call for attendance

Q: How will attendees be "chosen", on which criteria?

We are trying to select an active, diverse and engaged group that will continue participation during the breaks. One of our goals is to help build and strengthen the testing community and connections between testing professionals in different roles, so the audience will be selected with an eye towards what they are bringing to the conference.

Q: Can I attend only one day of the session?
We will prefer those applicants who are able to participate fully during the conference. In case not enough applications will arrive, part-time attendance might be considered.

Q: Can I attend the conference remotely (VC, etc)?
A: No, we don't broadcast the conference directly, however the videos will be available on YouTube shortly after the conference has finished.

Q: Will the talks be recorded?

Yes. They will all be posted on the website a few days after the conference.

Q: Will there be a waiting list?
Yes. Experience tells that although all accepted speakers try hard to make the conference, every now and then, things come up and speakers are unable to attend. For those cases, we like to have a short waiting list in place to be sure we are able to offer a complete set of presentations. The same is true for selected participants.
